About the Adult Education Division

Tennessee Adult Education is here to help adults gain the knowledge and skills needed for a brighter future. As part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), we offer free services to support high school equivalency preparation, employment, and post-secondary education.

Our programs include Adult Basic Education (ABE) to improve math, reading, and writing skills, HiSET and GED preparation to earn your diploma, and Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) to strengthen English and job skills while preparing for U.S. citizenship. We also provide digital literacy training, employability skills development, and college and career guidance to help you achieve your goals.

Whether you’re looking to advance your career, continue your education, or gain new skills, we are here to support you every step of the way!
